My favorite picture is one I took of a roll searching find. I haven't decided if it belongs in the 2015 or 2016 hole in my album, since it was struck in both years.
Tough one, but here is one of the first times that I met Ken Bressett at the ANA, shortly after Whitman published my book about collecting the Guide Book/Blue Book.
I try and stay focused on learning an contributing to seated quarters and the LSCC and don't dabble in other areas too much! It's a long and challenging series with many varieties.
It is not that life is short, but that you are dead for so very long.
It's not my #1 coin now, but it was for many years. This is the piece that got me hooked on early U.S. coinage.
I bought this piece from Catherine Bullowa in the 1970s. She graded "EF."
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I think I'm a decent contributor here. I certainly enjoy this place, I'm here most every day.

Dunno about my contribution here other than to attempt to add some levity now and then.
I can't say I've contributed too much. I am a newbie here and I check in every day to see what's going on. So many great coins and history and I have learned a ton. Having issues with posting coins so hopefully this works. It's one of the first foreign I found. It's the same pic as my Id coin.
I'm not sure what my contribution here is exactly, other than hopefully to share some nice photos once in a while and a bit of enthusiasm for what is, at its core, a really fun hobby.
So, while this isn't my very favorite coin, it is in my top 3 or 4 but also comes with a story. When I got back into collecting I initially had a strong dislike for commems. After all, they aren't real coins, and some of the designs are pretty bland. Then I found out that Cyrus Dallin, my 1st cousin, 4 times removed, was the designer of the Pilgrim. Well, that forced me to reconsider. I bought a 1920 and a 1921 and I bought one for my mom as she feels a strong family connection to this artist. After a while I developed a desire to own a really, really stellar example.
This one popped up and I feel quite lucky to have snagged it:
Other than singing the praises of British hammered to anyone who will listen, I have given the more knowledgeable contributors a chance to share their knowledge by asking questions.
I contribute lots of random threads, report tiny details on Coins, and try to infuse “positive energy” on the forum.
Here is my favorite non variety nickel, I sent it in for grading from my nicest dasnco set.
It has to be this coin I purchased from Canadian mint two years ago.
Why? You might had asked. I made it to a pendant as a birthday present to my little one on Valentines day.
Two years later, ,my little princess who is able to eat 3 full plates of snow crabs at the age of 4, still considers this necklace as her most precious belonging . (picture taken during our quick lunch two days ago)
My mojo and focus is on the truth not on appearances and "aesthetics"; I earned a philosophy degree but my focus was on Aristotle and the pre-Socratics. The reality is that the truth and reality are not popular or subject to votes or easily obtained collectibles if you have enough money through whatever means.
I liked this piece of currency I got through a New Hampshire coin shop where the dealer opened up a new area of collecting to me at modest cost:

You took a collector coin out of OGP and made it into jewelry?!?! Isn't that illegal?
The truth is, that is not a bad way to go. Sort of puts it into perspective. There are plenty of others sealed up in OGP but only one that is hanging around your daughter's neck as a favorite possession.

Yes.THREE full plates of crab legs plus half plate of shrimps. I normally buy four 1 1/4 lb lobsters every few weeks. One each for my wife, both daughters and me. And guess who would always have the first dip. lol
I don't know if I have contributed very much here, but I did start the Washington quarter registry post that is still running. Latest edition to the set!

Almost forgot, have 4 ov theses!!! So what if I paid a GRANT more than Mint prices. They Won't' deliver!!! Can't meet demand because only 100,000 allegedly being produced and demand id HIGH. It truly is a magnificent coin. I gonna sell one to a Doc 4 320, a real barkcin!!!

I feel like a humble student in the presence of masters and try to learn as much as I can! There is much knowledge to be learned here, that's for sure. Favorite coin? Here's a shot of my first gold coin, and I used to think it was pretty nice, but the longer I see everyone elses photos, I see it's actually pretty rough. And why is the 4 so much thicker than the other numbers in the date???
