Our own Mike Hayes used to say that 'it is a good storehouse of readily available funds'.

Old money is better than new.
Bought an old car once (a collectable) and found a $100 dollar bill in the paper work that was left in the trunk. It's too bad the $100 bill wasn't as old as the car. Does that count?

Well, for some people, stocks and real estate are hobbies. I guess it depends on how much time one puts into it and how much fun one has?
