This might be a really stupid question, but I just want to make sure this coin is fake.
What do you think? If I remember correctly, it weighs 26.4 Grams.
Thank you so much and sorry about the bad pictures, I took them with my phone.

Besides some dentils being off size I've circled some problems I can see. However, unless you had it in had to weigh and examine I can't be sure.

The fact that it is already cut in half and the rims are filed makes me think that someone believed it was a counterfeit. The reverse die (also some 74-CC's) has some genuine "markers" but they are large enough to be transferred to a counterfeit.
AU is the "expert" but nothing he has circled bothers me. Unfortunately, I cannot tell more from he image.
The mint mark looks fake to me,... I do not have an 1873 handy to compare, but it looks poorly done and not PMD. Cheers, RickO
I would guess fake, but does it really matter now that it has been cut in half? The weight would probably be close to correct as I am sure the shavings produced by whatever method used to cut it would have weighed up to .8 grams

Nice to see a sharp blade was used in the jig saw. Peace Roy

I'm pretty sure it's a fake. some serious dentil problems on the rev near AMERICA for instance. Since it's bisected I don't see it as a potential threat in the marketplace (LOL).
I think someone thought they had scored when they bought it in an old belt buckle and when they realized it was fake they chopped it in half.
Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.
I'd like to see what color the center is.
Looks fake to me.
