Spotted this in the middle of the road, in a puddle, driving 40 mph.
Happy day.

A couple weeks ago my wife and I went to a State Park to do some kayaking. After getting the kayaks ready to launch, we took turns walking to the head in final preparations. I cut through a hurricane Michael ravaged picnic area on my way back to the launch ramp, there sitting in the middle of the picnic area laying on the dirt, was a fresh $20.00 bill. No one anywhere in site. Strange, but made for a happy kayaking trip!
Oh how I LOVE this hobby!
Freedom isn't free, we must protect it. Many Thanks to all those in the U.S. Military and Law Enforcement, past and present, for taking lead in that fight.

I made a u-turn to see if it was what I thought it was, passed it and made another u-turn, slowed, put hazard lights on, opened door, scooped it up, closed door and continued on my way.

I guess it was around three years ago, late afternoon, very windy day around 40 degrees. Not a good day to go food shopping and lug around groceries. But I really needed some items so off I went.
I drive to the local supermarket and park the car. The parking lot was fairly empty due to the weather. I'm just looking out the window ready to get out of the car, when I see a bill being blown up and down by the wind around ten yards from me. I couldn't tell the denomination.
I knew with the strong wind it was going to take some work to grab it, and figuring it was likely a dollar bill, along with the cold weather, I pretty much decided to just let it go. Could have even been one of those worthless advertising dollars, printed in green ink and the same size as money that sort of looks like money.
Of course you see it coming...like going past a Coinstar machine and always looking in the reject bin, even though nothing good is ever in there, I just couldn't help myself and decided to go after the bill.
It took literally around a minute to track it down. The wind gave me a very hard time, but I finally got it. And my first thought was all this work for a lousy dollar bill or advertising garbage. Well lo and behold, it wasn't a one dollar bill, 5 dollar bill or 10 dollar bill, but a beautiful 20 dollar bill. I was happy.
And like the incorrigible greedy bastige that I am, i figured that perhaps there are more? So i walked around the parking lot, and even walked all around the building figuring perhaps some were blown against the wall and stuck there, but alas no more to be found.
My best guess as to how it happened, was there are some self-service gas stations nearby. I figure someone had their wallet open, and a sudden gust of strong wind blew the bill out of their hand and took it away up in the air so quickly, they figured it was pointless to go after it. Especially with your automobile sitting there.
So anyway, i got some exercise and a $20 reward, and had some fun doing it. Not bad.
Hey check the serial number if it ends in 6573C, I lost that out of my pocket at gas station the other day. P.M me for address to return it to. P.S. no reward offered

Great story... I would have chased it down too.... Something about money blowing around makes me curious....I got to get it.... Cheers, RickO

I was gassing the car last week and daydreaming while doing so, and when finished pumping/daydreaming I thought I saw a bill laying on the ground a few pumps ahead of me.
I dismissed it as a greenish-white colored crushed paper cup, but then I just had to see what it was.
It was a crumpled up dirty $20.
It had been quite some time since my last paper money find.
While I felt sorry for the person who lost it, that feeling didn't last very long!
Nice find! I spotted a quarter once, on the ground outside a convenience store. A ten year old kid beat me to it.
In all my years of 'ground watching', I have found two $20 bills - individually - and four $20 bills folded together once in a busy bar parking lot.... I still keep my eyes on the ground hoping for a repeat... Cheers, RickO
My best ground spot was a $100 and $50 folded together on the ground.
Collect raw morgans, walkers, mercs, SLQ, barber q. Looking at getting into earlier date coins pre 1900s.
@bigtime36.... Double Wow..... Nice find indeed.... Cheers, RickO
I would have liked to see the tire marks or the quick u-turn!
Cool. So get this.....I stop on the highway between Vegas and LA to change drivers. I'm the passenger and get out and walk behind our car to go get into the driver's seat. I'm standing there watching traffic zoom by at 80 and no break in the traffic. So, just looking down I see a quarter, face up in the middle of the right lane. Of course I cannot read the date and I just stood there thinking: can an old man of 73 dart out into that lane of traffic, between vehicles, and grab it and dart back before being squashed? Nah, it's still right there....still think about it a month later.
bob
Wow... It might have been a silver quarter....I would have made the dash....Or, it could have been the quarter to win the prize in the quarter slots... Well.. you probably made the right decision... glad you are still here. Cheers, RickO
I like the green toning...

@toyz4geo....Very true... Like the small crystal skull I found in a canyon niche while hunting in AZ....One never knows where treasures may turn up....Cheers, RickO
Not just kids.....I did that, very temporarily, at the casino craps table last week. Pulled $100 bill out of my wallet (one side, front pocket) and put it in my other front pocket where it would be quick to just grab if the point didn't hit and I wanted to keep playing. That side had my cellphone with it. Point hit, I got more chips, and didn't need the $100. Then, about 30 minutes later, I backed away from table to use my smartphone to do some texting while someone else threw.
Casino boss new me and shouted my name. I looked up and he pointed to my feet. The $100 bill was there. I thanked him and put it back in my wallet.
So, even those of us careful enough, usually, sometimes make mistakes.
Putting any "raw" cash in with your cellphone is asking for problems (I have made my son use a wallet...of his choosing.....since about 2 years ago as he was one of those doing exactly that ... raw bills with cellphone)
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
I never keep my cellphone in a pocket with anything else...I wear cargo pants, and the lower right pocket serves well for the phone. That explanation does fit well with the amount of found paper currency reported though... had not thought of that. Cheers, RickO
Wish there cell phones when gold coins circulated!🙂
@No Headlights...Finding a gold coin while MD'ing has been a recurring dream of mine....Still only a dream, but one is allowed to dream.... Cheers, RickO

I couldn’t agree more. I’m also still hopeful.
Or more holes in pockets

Two weeks ago I let my front lawn get fairly long. When I mowed it, a $20 bill shot out of the grass chute on my lawnmower. The bill suffered several cuts, but, was all in one piece. The bank was willing to exchange it for me.
Now that is a great find... $20 through a lawnmower.... Cool.... Cheers, RickO
Spotted in middle of roadway, travelling 30 mph, last night coming home from work.
