    I am not sure if I am seeing split serifs or machine doubling...looks promising though.

    @acadien Which to look at?
    2000 or 2004?

    Seems like there are split serifs so I vote yes. nice pickup.

    I think it is actually die erosion doubling (apparent radially-oriented ghosting of design elements near the rim due to die wear).

    Worn dies?

    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks for spotting, this is my error. But it's not worth a premium, does it. Ha ha ah .

    I have 3 of these , that why I made this mistake. 2x 2000 D and 1x 2004.

    I guest to have the definite error statics, better send these coins to NPG.
    Thanks a lot

    @dcarr 's opinion has much more weight than mine in this area. I'm not sure if you are familiar with his work in creating fantasy coins among other things. His web site is dc-coin.com/ as you will see he has a lot of expert experience in working with dies and coin presses.

    Do you need other specific pictures that would help you.

    Thanks a lot.

    It looks like die erosion and machine doubling.... No numismatic value, but always worth checking. Cheers, RickO

    I agree with the die erosion along with machine doubling. These do catch ones eye, eh!

  • acadienacadien Posts: 635 ✭✭✭

    I have got 3 hope the other 2 are DDO. Thanks,
