Hard to tell from those pics. MS 64 or 65 depending on which pic you go by.

To my novice eye it looks very nice for a 64, compared to some of my other gold pieces. It looks good in hand as well.
I want to get it reholdered with a trueview. Should I send it in for a re-grade instead for a shot at an upgrade? Only a couple on this thread hought it could be less than a 64, so seems low risk?
What keeps this a 64 instead of a 65?
In any case its a very nice coin and will be a keeper for my gold type set.
To be honest I have somehow overlooked this forehead "dent" it almost looks like part of the hair. I just brought up coinfacts to show you a picture to say "see they are all like that" and I was very wrong. I feel dumb! I can see that keeping it from 65, though I have seen 65s with worse. My 65 saint practically has an arm cut off.

I thought the same also and had to check coinfacts. Wasn't sure if it was part of the hair or pmd. If it was hidden in the hair I bet you it'd be a 65 easy.
Whatever you decided to do ...... she is a BEAUTY! From the the 1st pix I though for sure 65 and the label looks fairly new as well so maybe it is a solid 64 as graded. Congrats on a beautiful coin regardless.....
My first thought was that it looked like a 64+ from the first images, a 64- from the 2nd images, and that it was most likely in an MS-65 holder. I would consider going for the upgrade.
That's a really nice looking 64! I was thinking it might have been a 65 because it is super clean looking with just a couple of minor hits to the face but nothing real distracting and the reverse is very nice looking as well. A beautiful coin you have!
That coin doesn't need a CAC sticker. That coin can be sold on it's own merits.

If you are sending it back in for imaging, get it regraded. I don't know how much more it would be worth with a plus attached, but it is a very nice 64 and I would be delighted to have it in my collection! Nice coin!!
Thank you, I think I will take a chance on a regrade. Seems like little risk and as mentioned it was going back for a new holder one way or other. Bolivar thanks for the pics of your 64+ for comparison. Maybe tough to evaluate from pics but I would say mine compares favorably.
Well I did end up sending it back to pcgs for a regrade. I was hoping for at least a + but it is still a 64. $190 shipping and fees for this regrade + 2 reholders. Ouch.
Here is the trueview, a little more honest than the original auction images.
Always interesting to see the results when a coin gets sent in / sent back. Plus the trueviews are excellent. So I'm glad the follow-up is appreciated.
I've got one more coin to find for my 20th century gold type set. A 1900+ $2.5 lib in 66. Have the other 7 coins, all gold shield / trueviewed. Have seen a couple of the $2.5 libs but for something i never plan to upgrade im trying to find the right one. My indian/gaudens 4 are all candidates for upgrade in the future, but just dont care enough about the libs to spend more $$ for better examples. At least not yet. Very happy with the $10 I've shared in this thread.

Looks Ms 65 to me 👍
Wish I could afford to collect gold that nice. Looks way better than the 64+ I had last year. Wouldn't be surprised at a 65+ or 66.
64
From the pictures 65
64-65. Very nice looking.
64.
The original photo was from an auction. I just took these through a loupe with my phone, for a different perspective:

Hmm ... never easy by photos but put me down for 64.

I can’t see it less than a 65 unless the luster is real dull. Surfaces look gem for sure so I’ll guess 65
64+
MS65. Very nice!

64 shot 65 at the height of grade inflation
I just cant see that as a 64 but if it is wow! 65 I say

Strong 64.
In the 64 crowd

Very solid 63++ perhaps even a 64. Congrats!
Friction on the high points from second pictures; 62/63.
It is a 64.

I think the dent on the forehead is pretty distracting so that may be why. Could also be the darks spots in the fields.
What keeps it a 64 might be muted luster.

I could see an upgrade, but then again, not if I was resubmitting it.

im not good with grading gold but do like that one. a high grade coin for sure, I like

I am late to the game (this working is for the birds)... but definitely saw it as a 64 and possible 65. Cheers, RickO
It's a very clean 64 and an attractive coin regardless of grade; I think friction is the limiting factor.
Regrade.

CAC deserving coin isn’t it ?👍👍

Here is a 64+ that I have since sold. I chose it after looking at dozens of baggy 64's.
