Any info on these Brooklyn Dodgers cards would be appreciated

JRoccoJRocco Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hey guys,
I have this set of 25 Brooklyn Dodgers 6.5X9 signed players cards.
I am not sure the team year but I do not see a Jackie Robinson card so I assume early to mid 40's.
I had these stored with a few old programs dating from 42 to 45.
Can anyone fill me in on these ?
I will include a pic of one of the programs from the Polo grounds :)

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Adding Brooklyn dodgers to the title of your thread may attract the right eyes.

They are definitely dodger team issue cards.
Ebay has a few that look like this in 1942 descriptions.

However most in the 1941 team issue look like yours

Your best bet would be to compare the guys in the ‘pack’ to the rosters of ‘Dem Bums’ but that is an early to mid 1940’s Brooklyn Dodgers Picture Pack.

They are from 1942 based on seeing Durocher, Reiser and Rizzo as 1942 is only year with all 3.

My father, who is 87 years old and still around, may be the person you need to speak with. In the 1950s he was the team physician for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In the 1930s and 1940s his uncle Louis was a scout with the New York Football Giants and he always took my father to the games with him.

The program you included a picture of is most definitely from Mel Hein Day, a game my father has told me about more than once in the last 50+ years.
