I'd think very few, but @cardinal qualifies.

Thank you for thinking of me!

I understand how the count of posts adds up, but I have no idea how the points get calculated! That being said, this is my 1,322 post, and system has me listed as racking up a total of 2,092 points to date.

'Points' is always 1.5824508320726172465960665658094 times 'posts' -- except when it isn't.

As far as I know, points come from getting likes/agrees/LOLs and by earning badges. I am not sure that raw post count in itself increases points.

I have no clue. Must be brownie points you're referring to.

Point count is 25% of my post count.

@ricko you’re loaded with points and posts

  • chesterbchesterb Posts: 961 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have 122 points. Obviously more than my post count but I’m also a newer poster.

Never paid any attention to points. Not sure what they mean -- doesn't appear to be #likes, etc added up.

Those who post little but post good things earning likes/agrees/LOL can do this. One thing I tried here when I first joined was to take the number of points and divide that by the number of posts to see who the knowledgeable members might be. While not especially reliable it does give an indication.

Unfortunately, after a few years of posting, most of the great members show a drop in their percentage score.

Fortunately CU is not about numbers. :)

This point system is fairly new (few years old). A lot of members had high post counts prior to the implementation of the system.

Rather interesting...this one is now my 1,323 post, but somehow my points have gone up to 2,100. Go figure!!

@cardinal - this whole point thing is dumb IMHO, but one accumulates points based upon the number of Likes, Agrees, and LOLs. It is likely that your points are rising lately because of your recent thread of tokens receiving praise from the thread readers.

For the mildly interested, @Proofmorgan fits the OP’s question.
