Starting around 7:32 PST, should be a total eclipse in Cali (don't worry California residents, the moon is not being taxed out of existence).

Sweet! Thanks for the post. I'd post on the thread, but I've never owned a clipped planchet coin.

Thanks! San Diego, phone lens held to telescope eyepiece, blue moon filter. Too bad the sky is so hazy and overcast. In totality now!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Few minutes ago, no filter on lens

@Justacommeman
It is amazing what an iPhone can capture. I was surprised to see mine was able to show the blood red of the "Super Blood Woof Moon." My view though was through frost iced branches rather than "through the palm trees. "
And here is another from the iPhone with the view of the full moon beginning to return:
Wisconsin Semi-Centennial. Also only a semi-medal
Best I could do...
It was clear here for the viewing... No pictures (surprise, surprise), but only checked out the blood moon... did not watch the eclipse... have seen those before. Cheers, RickO
double eclipse ??
I do not have any, but enjoy viewing those that are posted.

No pictures either, but I saw it around midnight and it was very red! So incredibly cool!
My YouTube Channel
Red, and when in partial eclipse the arc was quite flat.

Shouldn't that be a blank obverse since it was a total eclipse?
The eclipsed moon at perigee has a dark to light copper color varying with depth of the umbra, position, and aerosols in earth's atmosphere. There's no connection to wolves, blood, roasted turnips, or other tabloid terms.
Those are great, PsP!

@Broadstruck - you tease.
I guess I can't let a thread like this go by without posting something, here's one I haven't shown in a while.

Thank you, Baley. We had sub-zero temps here last night so the sky was crystal clear.

Pretty amazing results, was that just a dip in acetone or did you send it in for conservation?

Thanks @Ownerofawheatiehorde ! I've posted this coin before. I got lucky with it. First an acetone bath then Verdicare.

Remembered I had this silver Wartime nickel with an ever so slight clip at 7:00.
I do not have one. I found one on the Ninth Level of eBay, though.
My first thought, damage. My second thought, damage.
