It was $20 when issued way back in 1923.
Fast forward nearly a century and it is still in Mint State condition, and a popular design with some collectors.
MS 64 is a fairly high grade for gold, on my opinion, on average.
It is around a Troy ounce in weight of gold. There is $1,290 of the cost, the extra beyond gold value is the “Numismatic” value, or the coin’s premium.
