MY NEWP...er... "A" newp.....er.....OUR newp....uh...???? Hmmmm... ;^)

Okay, I saw a coin and got it. It arrived yesterday. As I'm opening the package, my partner-in-crime is watching and SEES the coin.
"Oh, how PRETTY !!!" ... I like that coin!!!
uh.... really?
"Yes. Let me see it closer." (uh-oh)
"THAT is the prettiest coin you have ! (uh-uh-oh)
Oh c'mon..... the best coin I have ??? Naaaahhhh... you've seen the rest of em.
"But THAT one is gorgeous!"

Then you should have it.

"No, it's your coin."

But if you like it that much, I really would like YOU to have it.

"YOU are the coin collector.....it's YOUR coin..... you keep it. It's yours."

Aw, now I won't enjoy it. You've NEVER liked a coin that much. It's a gift. I want you to have it.

"Nope I like it. I think it's gorgeous, but it's your hobby and I don't want to take it. It's yours."

Okay, so now what do I do? My late wife of 47 years did like coins and helped me accumulate stuff and even opened the coin shop with me.

When she died, a few years later I met my present partner.

We've been together going on 7 years now and, while we share appreciation of antiques and old stuff, she really hasn't been that into ....COINS.

So.

HORNS OF A DILEMMA :D

I take her to the computer and, thinking I can find ANOTHER '21 Peace she would like, I start scrolling. Dealer sites, eBay, Collector's Corner. ALL of em. :|
"Nope, nope, nope, nope....not that one...that one either....nope,, nope, nope."

But Buttercup, you're turning down UNCIRCULATED coins. SHINY !! ... NEW !...

No matter. I had kept the image of the newp on the screen as we scrolled and..... NOTHING...else excited her. :s

So off I trudge to the safe to clack yet another slabbed treasure into a fun and exciting blue box. :/

WHEEEEEE !!!!!

THEN BRAINSTORM! :)
I paw through my misc. junk and find what I'm looking for. A hinged, glass front, WOODEN case for one slab that a dealer must have sent a coin to me in. :):):)

So.....my very first.... OUR COIN o:)o:)<3<3

Sitting on the little table between our chairs.

Crazy hobby, this. :D

Oh... the NEWP... almost forgot. ;)
