Anyone else getting charged tax on shipping from ebay?

Was surprised to see the total on a coin book purchase - local tax is roughly 10% in Seattle, so I'm getting taxed on the book and shipping total.
Before I call ebay later today, thought it would be useful to see if others are experiencing the same or if this is a one off error.

Shipping charges are taxable in the state of Washington.
10% local tax in Seattle?
All I can say is WOW!

Still getting used to the new playing field.......
Cameonut - no income tax in WA so they make it up with sales, gas, property taxes, etc.
Around these parts, there is a State base rate, municipal (local) rate and possibly a county rate all included in total "sales tax".
One supposes that Seattle has a local rate and that Washington State has a base rate, and that those two things approach ten percentum. I think that is what Cameonut is implying.
Bought about $160 in reloading items on the Bay and no sales tax.
For a BIN if one proceeds to the point that tax is due I assume one can still choose not to complete the sale.
Cameonut - you're not Swedish, are you??
NY State also taxes on the shipping fee
I guess it makes sense, o/w you could sell a $100 item for a buck with $99 shipping and essentially pay no meaningful tax.
Yep, my first purchase on eBay this year added sales tax. Here in Bellingham it's 8.7% (6.5% for Washington state, 2.2% local). It's worse north of the border, so our local government still benefits from Canadian shoppers.
If I remember, I save shopping for when we're in Portland (no sales tax in Oregon)

I expect to see sales tax charged on shipping.
I've just done some checking on the sales tax requirements for the state of Nebraska, after the Supreme Court ruling that is affecting everyone. Nebraska charges sales tax for amounts including DELIVERY for items for items to be delivered into Nebraska. While not necessarily the same in other states, I would expect more likely than not. They likely consider that a 'service' which is taxable.

Yes... Purchased something this afternoon... and tax was included in the itemized invoice. Cheers, RickO
Yes as well. Ten dollar item, free shipping but an additional dollar for tax.
