It IS special, Swampy! Look at the FG. See how big it is? 1973 is the only year it appears, because the Mint made Gasparro make it smaller for 1974.

I consider 1973 to be a one year Type Coin, although it has no big following as such.

WOW! Great pick up. I would never think anything like that would remotely be found in a roll.

Coin roll hunting is like Good Will Hunting, I guess.

Too bad we can't get Robin Williams to put the two together.

That's what made undated Lincoln error collecting nice back then. If it had the big initials you knew it was a '73.

  • Well, the 5 plus pounds of uncirculated late 50's early 60's pennies from one box was memorable.

My best find ever (never ever to be outdone or even matched by me, I realize) was a 2016 nickel struck over a 2015 nickel, found in a bank box of new 2016 nickel rolls.

It was black from grease and I almost overlooked the understrike details, but I was thankful for the grease as I assumed that is what caused it to stick around at the mint for a second ride through the presses in 2016.

A 1941 WLH in a roll of Kennedy's...I let out a yell so loud my wife thought I had been attacked. :D Cheers, RickO

My Avatar, not sure I want to have it graded though as it might ruin it for me :)
