One of these reverses makes a Mercury Dime a $25000 coin and the other reverse makes a Mercury Dime a $500 dollar coin. Which is which in your opinion? Actually the obverses have little to do with the prices of the 2 coins. Click on the pictures to enlarge them and see all of the details.

First is FB barely. Second is not barely. Both are close calls.

IMO, the coins are probably 1921-D's and the top one must be a 66+ or 67 w/FB to be worth so much.

The top is FSB and therefore the more valuable.... Cheers, RickO

They are both FB but, the second one looks to have RPM and its graded so I'll go with #2 even though #1 looks better.

I'm thinking the top one is fb and a lower grade than the bottom one, not fb, but close and a higher grade. Probably the same year, 18d or 19d.
    Top 64fb
    Bottom 65

I'd guess the top coin is a 1919 ^ in MS 65 FB
I'd guess the bottom coin to be a 1916 D in XF 45.

The coins have to be dated either 1916 or 1917. The Mintmark looks to be the one with the angled inside the "D".

That Mintmark was replaced in 1917 with a new punch. Both old and new appear on 1917 dated coins.

That of course, is my opinion. The new punch is close, but not that defined.
