Has anyone used the PCGS Restoration?

If so, would you care to mention the grade you received? I'm thinking of a few I have and was wondering if it's worth it. They look AU+

Thanks for the input! I'll probably do this as the outcome of the coin and value to grade is there.

If you do use it be as specific as you can on the submission form. Add extra notes like "dip obverse due to negative toning" and "remove purple stain" so they know what you are looking for.

I submitted one that had heavy hazing. I too did not feel confident in attempting to remove. Very pleased with the results as it ended up a DMPL cc dollar. I thought it might be under that haze and was sure excited when I got the results.

As with most things like Conservation/Restoration, the techniques and quality
improve over time. I'd be curious to see the before/after pics of @crazyhounddog 's
collection. Granted, many of our coins do not need that level of "help" but the
pics would show the level and quality of the service.

I've heard they do better work and have better chemicals than the alternatives; but you have to be patient because it can take a while.

They did a good job on my 19th century row house restoration.

But not so good on the neighbor's cat that got run over by a trash truck.

The coin I submitted (1921 Peace Dollar) went up one point in grade, from 62 to 63. It looks 100% better now than when I sent it in.
