Definitely need to be careful and observant of your surroundings!

Don't let people hold more than one coin at a time or put in a box BEFORE they have paid...
Oh .... I hope our dealer friends know better
Unfortunately at least once a year there's a news story about exactly this.

Take your Dealer badge off as you leave the show. This goes
for collectors as well with name tags.
The show is BIG news. The sharks are already in the water. A little common sense and an awareness of your surroundings is the first order of the day.

We get one or two sad stories each year... almost always the same....Stopped to eat, came out, coins gone....I hope it will not happen this year. Cheers, RickO
I will get a small portable video camera and have it setup on my table to capture any errant hands.
And, Edit to add, optionally, it does not even need to be recording but sitting there.
Be a good time for a police sting operation when the decoy stops for food. Better yet, the police should encourage all dealers to stop at the same restaurant after the show where they will be laying in wait.
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Debt
You must have some pretty good hand recognition software.
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Debt
More of a preventive. Similar to having a sign on in your yard but not having any security devices in/on the house.
Those wide-angle cams get a lot more if setup correctly.
Let's hope we don't have one of those stories this year.
As long as the coin insurance companies cover coins left in the trunks of unattended vehicles - and they do - you’re wasting your breath. And frankly, I only bother responding because it pisses me off to be paying higher premiums so this particular risk will be covered.

I won't be at FUN but while at shows I try to be alert and aware of what's going on.
Sometimes that can be taxing, especially if you are at a show without help.
That's when it helps to have dealer friends.
Please don't !!!
I always take off my badge, at the ANA.
Even if I go out of the building for a minute.

I truly hope we wont be reading about a theft here in the near future
