Either team was probably better than the Detroit Lions.
And the New York Jets and the Giants.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Oh, how the tide has turned. Saban's worst loss ever...previously was by 14 points at the Sugar Bowl by Oklahoma in 2014. I have not seen so many long faces since I was at the track. Someone mentioned some sort of "drake" curse?

Come on people! No one has even mentioned the (almost) numismatic connection!
Clemson fans are known to stamp $2 bills with an orange paw print and spend them everywhere they go when they are in town for a game.
In 1977, Georgia Tech decided to stop playing football against Clemson. In a show of protest, students and alumni stamped $2 bills with Tiger Paws and used them in Atlanta to illustrate the money Tiger fans spent at athletic events. Today, fans still use $2 bills when attending away games. https://www.clemson.edu/about/traditions.html
Looks like Tua should have spent more time studying the secondary defense of the Tigers and less time taking photos with the Hawaiian headdress. I love SEC football, but it looks like there is a new Sheriff in town.

The founder of Clemson University, Thomas Green Clemson, was the Son-in-Law of John C Calhoun (US Vice President). Calhoun owned the famous Calhoun Mine in Dahlonega GA and was a major proponent in getting the 1835 Branch Mint Act pushed through. The Calhoun Mine was a major source of gold deposited at the D-Mint. His Son-In-Law Thomas managed the mine and became quite well to do in doing so. Clemson University was founded through a bequest in his will when he died.

It's all good from where I sit.
I'm a Univ. of Tenn. fan .
Since U.T. was not playing for the championship I was pulling for Alabama
SEC for the most part is one of top 2-3 F.B. conferences.
Clemson defeats Alabama.
Championship trophy stays in the South.
...the books cleaned up for the game and both halves on this one...the best value play of the entire game was 2nd half Clemson moneyline that paid +295...I felt Bama was toast at the half when Saban said before trotting off the field that (Clemson) was running stuff on defense that they hadn’t practiced for...and that can’t be fixed during a 20 min lockeroom gathering in any situation, especially at that level...hell of a showing from Dabo & the Tigers, Congrats to them
One of my students actually got one of the Clemson $2 in change somewhere. She showed it to me one day when she found out I collect coins and currency.
