error identification

My father gave me thousands of wheat cent coins. I separated the 1909 - 1939 and have 1,468 rolled by date & mint mark. There were 2 rolls labeled oddities that interested me. I am starting to catch some of the lingo like “clipped” & “lamination error”. However I am unable to figure this one out. Was this minted this way or was it modified after circulation? Thank you for any replies.

Removed from an aluminum encasement, as Fred said, post Mint damage and no premium.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

The damage must have taken place very early as the wear appears old. Not a premium coin.

I might add that it is worth keeping as an example of what this scenrio looks like.

  • You all ruined my day! thank you very much for helping me identify what happened. If you have any beekeeping problems please let me know. Don’t know anything about coins but spending them.
    Again Thank You,

@djheim ... Welcome aboard.... Sorry your coin turned out to be a damaged cent... but there are many... and the learning curve in coin collecting will no doubt result in more such finds if you stick with coins. I do not know anything about beekeeping... but use Buckwheat honey in my tea each day.... Cheers, RickO

Welcome, might as well start an error binder cause if you're looking you're going to find all sorts of pmd and minor errors. I think it is helpful to know what you find and be able to refer to them in the future. Peace Roy
