Here's a suggestion for CGC to improve submissions and give more collectors a fair shake..........

Here's an answer for CGC (coin grading companies) to improve submissions.....add additional grading tiers/levels/standards; Tier1, Tier2 and possibly Tier3. Each grading standard would have different rules for low standard coins, average standard coins to high standard coins. A high grade standard coin would be indicative by the grade MS65T1 or MS67T1. Whereas an average grade standard coin would be slotted with a MS65T2, MS66T2 etc: grade.
Let's face it, a 15 year and beyond collector is going to have far better coins than someone starting out. But yet, all coins come with a wide range of strikes, conditions, luster and wear combinations, all having to fall into a very limited grading scale P1 to MS70.
What you say?

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
A finer granularity would be good if objective rules can be formulated that can be applied consistently (repeated submissions yield the same grade, say 80-90% of the time).
Could you suggest some rules like this for Jefferson Nickels?
We do already have plus grades, so that covers 1/3 of your suggestion.
How about something which might be easier to quantify, like a separate toning grade?

Similar to Brown/RedBrown/Red grades for copper.
Something like:
TN - No toning
TD - Dark toning
T1 - single color toning
T2 - two color toning (defined as sufficiently different colors, like Blue and Yellow)
T3 - three color toning (blue red yellow here)
These could be defined fairly objectively (like BN, RB, RD are), requiring a minimum % of the surface to count as a color.
And the side with more colors would be the one that determined the grade.
Or an S grade (SD S1 S2 S3) could be used when only a single side is toned.
What's CGC? oops.. I see.
Is LOL the new disagree button?
Already too complicated. I vote no.
So what does a CAC sticker on a tier1 mean vs a CAC sticker on a tier2?
(I’m guessing no stickers for tier3)
Dip all submissions before slabbing!
Well, I'll be! We'll have to change grading to scoring. That's it and make it CSC.

I lol'ed only to disagree with you.

That shouldn't be a CSC problem.

I've learned one thing from the large number of responses to the several recent threads on changing grading practices / standards. Almost everyone has a different idea and there's a lack of consensus on anything.
That said, I've concluded the TPG's are doing the right thing and should leave everything the way it is.

Human beings are a peculiar species. They are driven by a will to not only survive but to have purpose. So they created signs and gave them meanings, gave them a sense of worthiness so others could follow and perhaps gain a bit of dignity amongst their peers, even if they were only their children, brothers and sisters. But we're all a little bit like that. But this is not all there is, rest assure. There is God.

Without standards, all grading is only an opinion....That is why there is so much discussion, disagreement, cracking/resubmitting, CAC etc., etc., etc.. Cheers, RickO
