If you post an image of the holder I will WAG.
Image of the ANACS holder...……sorry for the confusion.
Like this one?
Just looking at the OP's images I would put the coin below AU and into the EF range.
Without any further information I will WAG at...
ANACS 45
PCGS 50
But this all depends on the original ANACS holder (my true opinion is still in the EF range)
It's still an very nice 1921 no matter the plastic it resides in!
Au 58/ au58.

WHAT IS THE ANACS GRADE?
WHAT IS THE PCGS GRADE?
You see? You get to view the coin and tell me what anacs would grade it, then you guess what it grades as a crack out.
I have the coin and anacs holder slim white holder pictures, and the PCGS grade.
I think some folks' grade opinion will vary depending upon whether it is an ANACS/ANA or an ANACS/Amos holder.
My guess

PCGS GRADE IS AU 55
I don't yet have the PCGS holder to show you, but as I said; I know the grade is PCGS AU-55
I will post the PCGS holder next week at this thread
FWIW, I'm not sure AU53 was widely used when the coin was encapsulated and it went from AU50 directly to AU55. The coin was PQ even by the standards used as of the date of encapsulation at ANACS IMHO. PCGS was right on this one.
Congratulations on the upgrade!
The coin was graded by PCGS this past week
Just wait until next week ! I will post a Bust Quarter large sized 1821 by ANACS that was graded by PCGS last week.
Let's see what PCGS says next week about the Large sized Bust Quarter, Next week stay tuned
