My first impression of your post was that you were collecting Albany's. (classic commems) So any coin depicting a beaver?
I’ve been collecting coins with the Oregon exchange gold beaver on it or copy’s of the $5 and $10

The hardest part is getting the beavers to hold still
I like them!
As far as images on an iPhone go.......some people take killer images on the phone, personally I have no idea as to how they do it. When I take pics the only way I have luck is to place the phone on something sturdy so it doesn't shake or move when you take the pic. Hang the phone over the edge of whatever you use and place the coin, token under the
lens area and tap the center of the pic a few times to get a clear image.

I was a little nervous opening this thread in front of the wife..
Oh come on, wives don't need to know everything !
In seven or so years I have been warned twice from world headquarters regarding my posting. Oddly both times were in beaver threads. The 12 year old boy in me. Nice.........
coins

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Nobody said it yet?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Nope. Best left unsaid. You'd be leaving yourself wide open to bammage.

I do not collect beaver coins... however, I did see a beaver walking right down my street, passing in front of my house, in a very residential area.... no water super close... and it was heading straight for the heart of the village. No idea what happened to it...Cheers, RickO
Yeah, like me, pretty much don't
What's with the "wives and the beavers" talk?
I used to watch "Leave it to Beaver" I like the time the Beav got into the Tea Cup on the billboard episode. Haha ! Right?
That was a classic Eddie Haskell episode. He starts to describe the situation to a bystander and then realizes it is Ward Cleaver....."Ha ha...yeah...some stupid kid is stuck in the.....OH...hello Mr. Cleaver....some poor unfortunate child is trapped in that tea cup"....or something like that. Great series.
Have not had a good beaver month in years ! used to collect the Canadian
I'm working on a deal with Virgil Brand's old beaver in it at the moment:

@jabba Back up your phone from the coin. Give it about 6" or else your phones camera wont be able to focus properly. I think that is your issue with the blurry photos.
You are baiting us...... right?
Oh great - one more coin to beg Regulated for......:D
Nice haul on the Beavers - I enjoy seeing what you come up with!
Cool
Great progress @jabba! It's been fun watching you build out this collection.
Here's a modern that I like but wasn't able to pick up before it was sold out:
Those are some cool looking coins. I fully and truly had no idea what to expect when opening this thread. Having attended college in Fairbanks, Alaska—once a year there was a fur auction in a parking lot. Trappers would bring their processed hides and furs they caught and they would go to the high bidder. Beaver pelts were particularly expensive-$350-450 at the time. Almost as expensive as winning a wolf fur. Whereas an orange fox fur could be had for less than $40. Just like coins-all about supply and demand.
Chance favors the prepared mind.
Dang @Regulated ...........I really like that one and Virgil Brand provenance is
nothing to complain about!

What's wrong with the word BEAVER? Take a look at "Not Safe For Work" thread with the non-spelled XXX picture
It is in your head how far a beaver would go
I think it's a leftover from CB radio days. PF -- try the Urban Dictionary if you need clarity...
There's a street in Anchorage called Beaver Street. It has some unsavory residents that makes for some very comical news reports on the local radio stations. Anyone here listen to the Woody and Wilcox show out of SC?
What do you do with that?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
@pocketpiececommems "What do you do with that?"
I'm not sure we want to know.....TMI
Beaver tail soup of course! Alaskan delicacy.
But Red King Crab trumps ALL!!
My favorite beaver story.....
Was fishing in interior Alaska years ago - was waiting for my buddy in his floatplane to pick me up.
Was walking up and down the stream fishing - got tired of packing stuff so set down my .357 Ruger on my tackle box.
3 weeks later, realized I didn't have the gun anymore.
Next time we went to the cabin, started looking around. Found it in a nearby beaver pond, the leather holster gone, the wood on the handle completely chewed off.
It was a little wood delicacy for the local beaver!
Did Virgil buy it from this dealer?
Great to have the postmark on that!
St. Louis Stamp & Coin Company was owned by Frank E. Ellis before 1907. I wonder if there's any relationship with Mike Ellis?
