It took 34 years but

I finally found not one but two silver coins in my change. This happened a couple of years ago about a month apart, but I’ve been looking for them in my change since I was six (1982). I just ran across them again and thought I’d share.
Sorry for the cliffhanger title and poor photos. The coins aren’t much to look at anyway. The quarter is from 57 and the dime is from 54.

Pretty neat; I haven't found any in ages.
Nice, good to hear their still out there !!!
I got a silver dime in change about two years ago. It is definitely hard to find!

Congrats! It doesn’t happen often, but I know the sound of the silver clanging in the clerks hands as they pull change from the register like the back of my hand.
Silver found in circ is always great!
Always like hearing that silver sound, rather than the clad thud.
Thanks for sharing @rcmb3220.
Thanks everyone. I still need to find a buffalo nickel. Not sure if those are harder to find than silver.
Nice work, 34 years or not.
I found 6 silver Roosies in the CoinStar coin return slot a couple years ago, That was nice.

My assumption is that a Buffalo nickel is much harder to find in circulation. Many people will not notice the silver content of a dime or quarter, and all they see is a type that standard in circulation. You might find a silver coin when someone dips into an old coin jar or collection for a quick spend, and you happen to be its first recipient to notice them.
But anyone who sees a Buffalo nickel will recognize it right away as a different and old coin - something to hang on to. So I'd say a silver Washington or Roosevelt has a better chance of surviving a few hands as circulated change, with a near zero chance for a Buffalo (or Mercury, or any other type that is no longer in circulation).
My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.
Cool I’ve found two 1964 quarters from change machine at work over the last 22 years

Find more silver nickels than any other old silver coins. Have seven in the last year. I presume no one thinks about a Nickel containing silver and just aren't looking.
I want ONE !
34 years is indeed a long dry spell.
Yesterday I found a 1963-D dime and a 1938 nickel.
('Tis the season).
I have not found silver in change in almost two years (I think)... but I have found silver dimes in the coinstar reject bin. Cheers, RickO
