AU with minimal marks in the fields that are so common on gold coins. Unfortunately, the two marks near the eye may cause it to be knocked down to the AU 53 range since they are in a prime viewing area of the coin.
I'd say AU-58 with good eye appeal because it has very few bag marks and smooth surfaces.
There could be some cloudiness that an expert restorer might be able to remove. I’m not taking about changing the metal; I’m referring to some surface crud that might not belong there.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
It could be the images, but it looks like there could be some cloudiness in the fields. To rule out the possibility of old putty/concealer, I would give it a nice bath in acetone. It should straight grade.

Gold! I love it is my grade.
Looks like it was in circulation for just a little. I'll say 53 to 58.
