question about ebay best offers for those here that use ebay

If you make a best offer on an auction that ends in say 10 hours, does the best offer also end at the time the auction ends?

The offer expires at the end of the 48 hour period during which your offer is active, or the end of the auction, whichever comes first.

Unless offer higher than my auction - its ignored.
You can't make offer on auction it has to be a fixed price listing and if the listing expires in less than 48 hours it dies with the listing.

Did that recently on a listing and the lister emailed me that my offer would be accepted on the new listing.
Got this..
A few moths ago, eBay put in a 'make offer' option for sellers so buyers can make offers on auction listings. Also, bidders can now determine how long they want their offer to stand ie 12 hours, 48 hours etc. The offers will end at that time or if the auction ends first.
I have had offers accepted on active auctions.... it was higher than the current bid at the time. Cheers, RickO
Yeah, that weird. I have a few auctions up now (I am a very infrequent seller) and I didn't realize that I activated the "best offer" option. I have had multiple offers over the starting bid.
Some of these still have no bids?
Why do that? Why not just bid?
Did not know they had changed, almost all I want to buy anymore are fixed price stuff it seems.
Ebay seems to change things around all the time, thanks for all the help I did make my offer and get the item I wanted.
