Pretty Neat Raw 1916P Mercury Dime.

Clipped Planchet and on the Reverse it has a complete Railroad Rim and some very severe Die Polish. The Reverse Strike is just really hammered. Too bad that the coin would grade only Details if sent to PCGS. Anyway its neat in my opinion.

That is some crazy die polish. So "Railroad Rims" -- not familiar with the term. Kind of a split rim effect?

Thats is some deep polish lines. Wonder what that mint worker was using? Some steel wool? :)

    Still a nice Merc.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of that one. I don't like minor clips and find the heavy die polishing to be distracting.

I saw that coin and almost bid on it, I’m glad it ended up going to an appreciative new home.

Are those deep scratches on the obverse, or something else? Reverse is cool with all those die scratches.

Behide her neck and going up are some scratches. Not real deep but they are there. Really too bad because the rest of the coin is really nice. I saw them when thinking about buying the coin but decided what the heck I want the coin.
