hi i have gotten some offers on coins how do i tell if they are cleaned or not

It takes some time to develop "an eye" for lightly cleaned coins. Until then, ask an independent expert (or two) that aren't trying to sell you the coin.
For harshly cleaned coins just ask any dealer to show you an example of one or two,,,, then you can spot them across the room in about two seconds.

Cleaned coins will often exhibit hairlines going in the same direction....mild cleaning could leave differences in surface appearance (i.e. shadows, gloss). There is information online and many examples have been shown on this forum. You have a lot of resources, use them and learn. Cheers, RickO

Look at the difference between original mint luster and a cleaned shiny surface.
A chrome look is an indication of a cleaned coin.
A light colored really old coin has probably been dipped or cleaned.
Small scratches called hairlines run in parallel or swirls (hairlines are not raised like die scratches)5

Someone needs to do some homework, like study similar coins that are graded and slabbed by our host so you can see details that are not knocked down by cleaning. Peace Roy

If you are unable to tell if coins are cleaned or not you should stop selling until you can tell. This will save you a lot of trouble that will result if you ship cleaned coins to someone who is expecting original coins.
Better yet, until you learn, don't sell (or buy) anything!
