This quarter was found in a roll and does not bare the color of a state quarter. Experimental Planchet??? This is an s mint Mark North Dakota 2016 state quarter. Can any one explain if this is Experimental Planchet?? View photos

You are the error guy. Why would you think this is anything special? Does it weigh differently? Do you think it has a brass core? Check the edge. Is there any "silver" color present which may indicate the reverse has been altered. Is the clad layer missing and the copper underneath discolored? Is one side plated?
An Experimental planchet is the wildest guess.

You can buy the full gold toned ATB quarter gift sets from the shopping network and such. So, that means someone probably took apart one of these sets and spent the quarters as quarters.

Make sure the coin is not altered. Looks like a seam around the reverse rim and a plated reverse was dropped in.

Appears the ATB quarter is supposed to look like that. But the gold toning was added after it left the mint.
