East German Aluminum and Brass Coinage

Does anyone collect this stuff? I always found it kind of intriguing for some reason. Some of the early issues apparently have good value.

I haven't come across many people that collect the minors. The commemorative 10 marks and such yes, but they all seem to have inflated catalog values.

Highly enthusiastic about world coins, contemporary circulating counterfeits and unusual stuff <3

Yes. People, including me, collect it. Building a complete collection of East German coins (excluding commemoratives) isn't too tough. It's all pretty affordable too. The early types are particularly attractive.

I collect the examples struck during the occupation in Berlin and Muldenhutten. After the 1950s I could care less for the DDR coinage though.
