As well as the USPS. No mail deliveries on Wednesday.
I would guess the us cash markets will be. electronic trading may continue.
I have no experience with day of mourning closures. holidays generally have some amount of electronic trading open in the usa during the day.
Thanks for the heads-up !!!
hmmm, I'm wondering now if searching for announcements may be required.
CNBC keeps saying the stock markets will be closed.
there's the bond markets. they haven't said a word about them even though the bond yield curve has been discussed all day. then there is the futures markets and cash currencies and cash metals.
I'm not sure where to check for cash currencies and metals.
I have not seen any announcement on the metals market... and they often are open on holidays....Cheers, RickO
The metals markets are world wide so they'll be open in most of the world.

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, or Sifma, an influential financial-industry trade group, has recommended that bond markets close on Wednesday. (SIFMA’s recommended full market closes are recommendations only. https://www.sifma.org/resources/news/sifma-recommends-full-market-close-wednesday-december-5-in-honor-of-former-president-george-h-w-bush/)
Meanwhile, futures giant CME Group will shut down trading of interest-rate and futures and options products for the day, though electronic trading and trading in energy and metals futures will have a regular session, including those for oil and gold.
My take is that the cash market for PMs will be open on electronic platforms.
I thinks it's good that we honor a leader this way. Although, I don't recall such a thing with the passing of Ford, Nixon, Eisenhower, Reagan , Johnson , or others.
We can thank our current leader for this.
Closed or not. Monies will be won and lost.
National Day of Mourning is a Good thing, IMO.
is this a paid holiday for the post office workers?
