1914-d false piece or counterfeit on eBay

Here is a fake 1914-d that is currently on flea bay. Note the missing initial F. This one came from across the pond in the early aughts -- 2000 to 2009. At one time all issues except the 1913 type ones were being offered like this from China.
All in all though this would fool a lot of people me thinks.
What say you??

Looks fake for sure.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
It would certainly fool new collectors or those who were unfamiliar with Buffs... the reverse stands out to me as fake- yes the obverse as well, but that Buff is way off. Cheers, RickO
The coin has a "Mushiness" to it that demands closer observation. There have been way worse Buff counterfeits of other dates and mints. A genuine 1914-D Buff tends to be weakly struck near the center, with detail missing at the knot.
There is also a generally mushy overall strike to a lot of them, but not to the extent of the OP coin. A lot of higher grade AU to Unc coins have a "silky like sheen" to their surface.
If you take note of the mintmark style on the OP coin, it becomes obvious that it is counterfeit.
The shape of a 14-D mintmark should be like that found on 16-D Dimes and the 14-D Cent. It has an inside curve that is more angular than rounded.
This is not the case with the OP coin.
Hope this helps.
Pete
The letter "O" in of and also that round bump above the bison's rump should also be a give away to being "made" post mint production.
