Don't know where I got Reed from. :open_mouth:

Easy to ignore the ugliness when it is Sunday afternoon and the game is on. I miss the NFL, really do but enough was enough. Fortunately I am in a climate where I can do stuff out side on the late fall and winter.

Oh Well...corrupt college basketball March Madness is not too far away.

I am able to remove myself personally from the players as individuals to appreciate the game. I grew up watching football, enjoyed it back then and still do today. Frankly, I don't understand those who quit watching the game because they don't agree with what the players are doing or saying. I just don't let sports figures impact me personally on that level. The game is greater than those who play it. I dont watch pregame shows, postgame shows, or the national anthem for that matter, either.

Consensus has it that Reed will be playing next season. Would you welcome him to your town?

I support The New England Patriots by rooting for them. I don’t give them any financial support or pay to see them play, and Consensus has it that “Reed” = “Hunt” And another thing a few bad apples doesn’t define the NFL or any team for that matter

Coinstartled, didn't you put up with the women beaters and rapists in the NFL for years before finally deciding
to boycott the NFL because of a few pacifist kneelers?
Perkdog- great last sentence. Just like general society, you have to deal with the bad apples. But the NFL has
a lot of great guys off the field also. Players that help the needy, sick, and less fortunate and they do it with
    a smile on their face.

I have to think about that. Really wound down on the NFL about 5 years ago. Michael Vick was poison to anyone with a sense of decency and should have never played another down.

Baltimore defensive hero (name slips my mind,) should have been imprisoned several years ago for his part in a murder, but money talks and he played a long career...that was reason to walk, but I didn't.

Seems that the abusers are more prevalent now, or they were always around and the sordid escapades were kept quiet. Too watch, let alone cheer for a dirt bag like Adrian Pederson is insidious for anyone with an ounce of humanity.

To each his own I suppose. A trip to the playoffs cures all the ills. Enjoy.

Your talking about Ray Lewis. And the media focuses in on the big stories and that is usually when a player does something stupid, also how many Kareem Hunt or Ray Rice incidents happened before the age of cameras everywhere? I bet a TON! Society loves controversy and that is what sells. It’s beyond me how a guy like JJ Watt can raise MILLIONS for people in need and Colin Kap kneels and gets more press. It’s just lunacy

Hell...I still watch college and it is not much better. Locally every year or two, a player gets sent up the river. An occasional coach as well.

Several brutal player injuries this season also.

I'll watch a handful of the final bowl games and reconsider whether it is time to kiss the game goodbye.

It amazes me that so many here assume that Ray Lewis was guilty of anything. Were any of you there and knows what went down???

Well, given that he pled guilty to obstruction of justice, it's an absolute fact that he was "guilty of anything".

This is supposedly an account on what happened that night in the hallway. Sounds like Hunt's friend is pretty much fos.

As far as the incident with the victim and the police goes, she didn’t have any visible injuries nor was she asking for any medical attention but in my opinion the police should have suggested to her to go directly to the police station and file a complaint and they should have confirmed they would submit a report based on her allegations, Since she assaulted Hunt by striking him in the face and could realistically be charged as well she probably didn’t want to go that route. Obviously the correct thing for Hunt would have been to walk away but being 23 and drunk and probably high is usually a recipe for making bad decisions.

Well put the "the correct thing would have been to walk away". Look at some of the stupid penalties these players get too. Some of these athletes need a handler to stand by them 24-7.

i agree but I doubt you & I are in EA's Madden demographic for this game. Change thrift store to Gamestop and you'll find plenty of people trading in last year's Madden for the current one.

no way :D the shelves are full of that garbage and who wants one thats 2 or 3 years old for more than a buck or two? What would be the point of buying one from say 5 years ago? I should disclose the fact that I topped out at a PS2 , about the end of the era where you are not connected to the internet and you actually own the game :#

They've been scamming kids for years. They use to give you decent credit for games but those credits got cheaper & cheaper by the year. It got to the point I wouldn't let my kids trade in anymore games,I'd rather just buy a game outright than watch my kids hand over 10 used games for one new one. I haven't been there in years,i can just imagine how bad it is now.

So you’re for giving a guy who has a history of assaulting women, and one that goes beyond heresay to actual video evidence, and not for giving a guy, who was peacefully protesting police violence against people of color, a second chance? Is that where you stand?

I thought I made it pretty clear when I posted “I’m glad he got a second chance”. And yea I believe in giving a 22 year old kid a second chance when he was drunk and high and got into a scuffle with multiple people, he could have caved that girls face in but actually stopped from seriously hurting her. It was inexcusable and am absolutely against violence against woman. And let me make myself very clear again I hate Colin Kap and am glad he is out of the NFL. That should be clear enough for you

That’s exactly why I feel Hunt should get a second chance. He got hit by multiple people and defended himself, he was drunk and still had enough sense not to seriously kick that woman he shoved to get her away from him. It was more of a push with his foot than a kick intended to cause damage. I have never hit a woman and don’t condone it or domestic violence by any means but there are times that circumstances dictate what happened with Hunt. 22 years old, Drunk, 3 AM, scuffle with multiple people. Yea 2nd chance is ok with me rather than throwing the kids life away.

I have to respectfully disagree with you here perkdog. You never hit a woman. Never. There are some things you don't deserve a second chance for, that is one of them. At 22 he is a grown man and needs to take responsibility for his actions. Perhaps he should not have put his mind in such an altered state that he was not in control of his faculties. Again personal responsibility.

When people have high profile jobs, there are higher expectations.

I get it, I really do Craig. Believe me I totally agree with not ever hitting a woman, but my definition of hitting a woman is definitely not what Hunt did, he half pushed her with his foot, that is different than punching her or striking her with force to hurt or injure, had that happened then by all means send him to jail and no second chance for that. I spent a lot of time as a disciplinary Sergeant in a State Prison and understand malicious intent to harm vs non malicious physical contact.
