1895 ish morgan dollar

Someone took some type of 1895 morgan and I guess was trying to erase the mintmark to make it the mack daddy morgan. Well it didnt work to well haha it looks like they literally took a dremal to the mint mark and just screwed the whole coin up!!! Its a shame since all the 95 morgans are better no matter the mintmark. It ended up in a bag of morgans I bought from a customer.

Is there anyway to tell from the die diagnostics what mintmark this coin was?

Very sad that some greedy person would ruin that coin.
It was probably a 95-O VAM 3. Date is barely in the far position, and VAM 3 is one of the more common 95-O varieties. There are no far dates listed for 95-S. If you check under the eagle's jaw, there might be some pitting or clash marks evident, but they might not be readily visible on a low grade coin.
