Some Silver

pcgs69pcgs69 Posts: 4,324 ✭✭✭✭

Got out a couple times in the past week.

1st hunt was at an older farm field. Only good find was an 1863 civil war token.

Yesterday hit silver beach. I know I should give it a rest there but somehow just keep going back! Ended with a silver washington, 4 mercs and a silver roosevelt. Also some kind of "Old Time 4th of July" tag.

Why give it a rest when it's not through giving ;)

  • Great finds. Congratulations

I'm interested in the details on the civil war token. You gonna soak it in mineral oil for a while? Then show the obv and rev. Peace Roy

I think the CW will be a future project. It’s pretty beat as it was a farm field find. Will post later on if it looks any better after a cleaning.
Hoping to get out a couple more times this year but it’s cooooold here right now.

Let's see the obverse of that CWT. It would be wonderful if it was the rare "running dogs" variety. The reverse is Charnley's storecard from Rhode Island.

Has warmed up here recently... not t-shirt weather, but rain instead of snow. Might be some New Year detecting... ;) Cheers, RickO
