May I ask if this is an ebay piece? There has been many listings of proofs similar in color to this that have been artificially toned by one seller.

    We have a winner!

$50 to Crazyhounddog on your behalf, ilikemonsters.
It's no longer anything close to RD, but that's what it's graded. Apparently this coin spent the it's time in Key West, and thats where it lost its red.
This has awesome magenta on the lower part, electric blue on top and a freaking rainbow in between. A bolt of yellow shooting out of Abe's eyes.
Not a spot of RD left on it.

Lots of interesting issues here. The great (new) color might trump everything but the rim hits stopped me in my tracks. There appears to be obvious doubling in the profile nobody mentioned.

I'd never take it out of that holder, that would be a big mistake.

I don't think those are rim hits. I think that's the holder.

This may not be the same coin, but on eBay there was recently a 1964 Lincoln in a rattler as PR67 RD which was toned. This one looks different than that one, this one looks far prettier.

    This is that coin
I took a flyer on this one, his pictures were awful and showed nothing. I way overbid and was thinking that I may have to use the ebay return policy for the first time. But wow! A keeper. So much so that this is my first downgrade, it will replace a PR68RD in my rattler proof set.

Late to the party....I would have guessed PR66... and missed it...Though I did not think the anomalies on the rim were damage...looked more like debris in the slab to me... Cheers, RickO

That is one beautiful Lincoln cent!! The label may be wrong, but I'd say it wouldn't matter that much. I'm glad to hear you have no plans of taking it out of that rattler. :)
