Post your notes, souvenirs, engravings, and art from BOGGS.

Boggs was a contemporary artist who has passed away. I first learned of him at a FUN show where he was selling his special numismatic artwork. At the show, I gave him the idea of taking the "Unfinished Masterpieces" (printed souvenir cards issued by the Bureau) and adding his "touches" to the engraved cards. Much less work for him than making a complete issue from scratch. I have his first piece and several other examples of his artwork. They are not rare as he liked my idea and I know he made more. Unfortunately, all my Boggs art is in storage back in TN.
Let's see some of his work that is in your collection.

Boggs was on my radar and I wished I had been able to correspond with him but despite my best efforts I was not able to get a good address for him in what would turn out to be his final couple years.
All I have is this tribute to J.S.G Boggs. It is a genuine dollar bill with added text, sort of a whimsical irony since he made a name for himself creating copies of banknotes.
Boggs "Sacagawea Dollars". See the bottom of this page: http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/page28.html
Wow! I had forgotten about those. 100,000 made - I wonder where they all went. I'll have keep an eye open on Ebay.
OK, I think I got the note and souvenir sheet for subscribing to Bank Note Reporter. The other - a show announcement.
