PSA 8 Mantle/corner issue

Hello,
I recently purchased a PSA 8 1961 Topps Mantle, the card looks great in every way, except the back bottom corner, it appears to be dinged or something. The front of the card for that corner looks just fine, so it’s only showing onthe back. Is this normally acceptable for a PSA 8?
Thanks,
Jake

Here is the entire back, sorry for the glare.
It is fairly common for corner wear on the back of 8s. One of the reasons I will not buy a card without a picture of the back. If you do not see it on the front and the card is well centered they are surprisingly lenient sometimes.
Thanks for the replies, so does this appear to be overgraded?
Here is the front, best pic I could get.
I think that card gets an 8 sometimes and a 7 sometimes. Have been working on a 1961 HOF set and there are a lot of examples of back corner wear in 8s in that year. Would not call it overgraded but would not say it is strong for the grade either.
Depends on the generation of flip. The newest label comes with the strictest standards so the older the flip the more likely you are to see cards that may not get that grade if submitted today.
In the past, corners and card condition and card front were given a greater weight than some aesthetics and centering; centering and aesthetics (focus, color, print issues, etc) now seem to carry a bit more weight than they once did.

I’d say the card is beautiful. Very strong 7 today and possibly an 8 anyway; does look very sharp if ever so slightly off center.

That card looks fantastic. How much was it?
I’ll tell ya this much, there are a ton of other imperfections that find themselves on 8 holdered cards and that imperfection that your talking about is probably one of the least of them. Be proud to own that card, it’s gorgeous.
Perkdog, I appreciate the kind words, I truly do love the card and am glad to hear everyone’s responses. Thank you everyone for making me feel more at ease about the card.
Nice pickup, you did well. I want to replace mine now....
Hiya Jake
Since I rarely look at the back of the card?
It's quite nice - good centering and the color/registration is really good - overall a sweet card buddy.
Congratulations on your pickup.
had a PSA 10 really old slabbed 1993 Stadium Club Derek Jeter Murphy. The gold foil was a little tarnished and the card just didn't have the eye appeal I wanted even though it was a 10. ended up selling it, then buying a freshly graded one in a new lighthouse label. the new one had bright gold foil, no specks on the front etc. much nicer 10.
so if you don't like it, sell it and use the money to get a better one.

Honestly I’ve seen tons of 8s with this kind of corner wear.
I haven't. chaz
If I had sent it in I would probably been given a 7 on it.The seller must have been one of the big time submitters.
Look at the generation of the flip. Back then, that was an 8 all day...
...and probably a 7 if subbed now.
