Funny thing is I don't remember these being toned when I bought them. It must be that getting old thing....

Alot of people get more "colorful" as they age so I guess it can happen to anything

Where were they stored? It would not be likely you would have missed that amount of tarnish... especially with the focus on color today...And since you were not this old when you purchased them....
