Help identify Chinese vault protector (?) and Indian subcontinent silver bar(?)

The bar isn't quite a Gandahara Janapanda "bent bar", but the characters looked more Indian to me than Asian.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Curiously I just happened to have gotten one of those Tamlung bars out of my SDB just today, they are from Laos in SE Asia.
