I have a 1878 morgan silver and need to find out what VAM this is on the back of the eagle. There seems to be a space on the right side of the eagle lower wing. (facing your left side)

@bladelock9 .... Welcome aboard....That looks as if it may be due to a grease filled portion of the die...I have no idea about VAM numbers...I am sure another member will let you know soon. Cheers, RickO
Hello and Welcome aboard @bladelock9!
You can look up VAMS at VamWorld.com if that will help you out any.
The part you circle is overpolishing of the reverse die. Many 1878 7TFs have this. The thing I look at first on these is IGWT, since there are hub breaks that show up on the 'o' in God and the 'r' in trust. Broken 'r' is a VAM number between 160 and 189. Check VAM 185A.
