Baltimore Show Report

Not as much traffic as the last Baltimore Show earlier in the year, but still a decent turnout.

I put together a really neat exhibit on Proof Gold at our table. "Proof Gold Through The Decades". We had an example of a proof gold coin for each decade. People enjoyed the exhibit and I was happy to have the display. I always try to display something cool in a single case at every show.

Business was brisk from the start and probably started to tapper off around Friday at lunchtime. We sold a lot of coins to other dealers and collectors in the $200 to $2000 range. Mostly type coins. A collector that I have done a lot of business with bought two spectacular Seated Halves - they fit his set very nicely...its coming along. A few collectors bought a couple of Gem CAC PCGS Gold coins, which usually always is in demand. Ten Indians seems really popular right now.

The auction was much different than the last one. Much. Smaller. But still had few nice coins. We bought one, and the new owner is very excited about his NEWPS. We were able to buy some nice coins that were offered to us....very lucky to have a Gem Proof Gold Commem - 100 struck.

I reviewed all of the coins in the upcoming Legend sale - stunning coins. A very nice selection. Great type coins, a nice run of proof gold, and a great group of commems. Check it out.

Thanks to all of the forum members who said hello, it is always nice to catch up.

Seth

Collecting since 1976.

Nice report.... Interesting information about proof gold. I have a lot of modern proof AGE's... but none of the older proofs... How was bullion moving at this show? Cheers, RickO

I didn't stick around long enough to really delve into silver, but there were several nendors that had Morgan dollars segregated into bins... culls looked to be going for $15, better condition for as much as $25... again, not 100% sure if people were paying that, or if that was the firm ask...
