Don't confuse oldest with best.
Interesting coin, but not for me.

I don't think it will hold up well in circulation. Also, if someone cracks out and drinks the rum, will it lose it's legal tender status?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Ultra-modern NCLT (Non-Circulating Legal Tender) at its worst.
I saw that coin live and it has very good safety plastic box, it is no possibility to crack them easily.
it is one of whole set Spirit Coin (with oldest alcohol)
I know people like to make fun of NCLT, but...coins should be fun. If someone finds a plastic Goofy poking through the middle of a silver coin, have at it! Better someone love that Rum coin than buy a VG 1881-S Morgan $ that bores them.
it is true
I like that coin.... Possibly a bit of bias here... I lived and worked in Barbados for three and a half years.... Great people, great country...Would love to get one... Cheers, RickO
bump
!!!
I have discount code on this coin and Spirit Coin set info pm
If it is such a hot item, why was this promotional thread bumped to the top after three months, with the offer of a discount code? Surely the limited mintage of 300 was sold out long ago.
Me, I'd like the naval side better without the UFO hovering over the ship. IMO. Peace Roy

The other side should have Coke.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
It’ll bug me if I don’t satisfy my curiosity. What’s holding the rum? Obviously it’s the UFO looking thing, but what is that?? Can you even see the rum? What’s the volume of rum?

all info you have on www.lux-coins.com.... it is no UFO it is glass capsule with drop of oldest Rum, when you see the coin live, you can see air bubble with drop of the Rum Harewood Rum 1780 - this drink was distilled almost 250 years ago in Barbados
Attractive reverse. Stupid waste of rum.
Though I never had any of the Harewood Rum 1780, I will say that Barbados makes the best rum in the Caribbean... beats all the others - and yes, I have tried the rum from the other islands. Cheers, RickO
I'm picturing other medals with a piece of whatever there commemorating glued to it.
C'mon, guys, it is a spirited concept. Try to drink in the ambience of the coin -- don't be a teetotaler. Hopefully I have distilled the idea.
I wonder how many liquor laws this coin violates?
That is a cool looking coin and very creative. Thank you for posting.
Ricko - try the Guyanese Dorado 25 (year old) rum...They have a 50 also, but that is long green. A great rum IMO better than Gosling's Barbadian. Also comes much cheaper as a 12 or 15, which are quite good as well.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Rum Caroni I agree is great.. and I think this coin is a pieces of art
@7Jaguars ...I lived in Barbados for over three years, and Puerto Rico for two years... so I tried many, many different rums. I will say though, that I have not tried the Guyanese Dorado 25....So I will look for that one. Until then, my vote will stand for Barbados rum.... Cheers, RickO
Cool coin! to the boards.

Funny story, I have a couple that I am friends with - the wife from an old Barbados family and the husband from Guyana. They have endless battles over who has the best rum and who has the best beer.
How to settle?
Well, all guests have to try both from both locations....The debate never ends and is renewed at every subsequent get-together.
Well, just Love coins, period.
nice story.... i tried Rum Caroni from Trynidad and Guyana and for me it is fantastic... my company last time bought two barrels Caroni and we make new editions... we also talk a lot in office about which alcohol is better
The basic story to create Rum Coin was Rum from Barbados because a lot of people said that this is the best rum and besides this is the oldes rum
thanks
