NEWP: 1739 Holland Provincial Duit

After visiting The Netherlands in June, I was taken aback by how rich their history and culture is for such a small and relatively modern country (i.e. modern from a European perspective). At that point, I set a goal to find some nice examples of their coinage to include in my collection. For the last few months, I have been looking for high grade 18th century duits (both VOC and provincial).
Last weekend, I pulled the trigger on the coin below. Although the strike is a little weak in some areas, the coin is incredibly clean (the holder has plenty of scratches). Once I received the coin, I was surprised by the luster and toning which were not obvious in the auction photos. The coin still has some of the original red color and also has a bluish/purple tone.
The obverse depicts a standing lion holding a spear within closed "Dutch" garden.
