1911 "D" $2.5

Let's do this again.

I sort of see a possible mint mark. I am not sure I see much of a wire rim on the right ride of the obverse but some of the 1911 Weak-D $2.5 the wire rim is fairly weak.

I doubt it but maybe @JWitten would chime in

A fin is not an absolute diagnostic feature.

I have a 1911-D weak D with no wire rim at all. I don't see the other diagnostics I look for though, so my bet is no D.

I do see 'something' there... but whatever it is, appears to be too close to the arrow tips...JMO... Cheers, RickO

    I don't think it's a 'D'.

"Gold is money, and nothing else" (JP Morgan, 1912)

"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)

"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)

It's a 1911-P OP. Keep looking and good luck.

Oh, and at one point I had over 100 1911 $2 1/2's in my collection, because I could "kinda" see a D on them all, haha. You see what you want to see. Here were just a few of my 1911's:

    That's just epic!
