These two Humbert spoons just sold for $1,250.00 each on September 20, 2018! They were offered at $1495.00 OBO each.
Any idea who made these? Were they done by the same people behind the Baldwin spoons?

Wow.... very nice... I am not a spoon collector (have known a couple).. but those would be tempting. Cheers, RickO
Not for me. Where's the melting pot?
I've dealt with that seller, he's a good guy. With only a sterling mark, it's hard to say who made them, but I'll say they are super cool!

We now believe that these were made for the California Mid-Winter Fair in 1894 - I have seen superb examples sell for quite a bit more than these did, although I think the market has really taken a tumble on these over the last ten years. You want to find examples that still have all of the gold left on the bowl, giving the "coin" part of the design a rich look. Richard Burdick put together the finest set of these that I've ever seen, which sold a while ago for around $50K.

Here's another Humbert spoon that I just ran across. Imagine drinking Campbell's Soup with these?
