I just ran across a 1972S Proof DCAM where the moons horizon line on the left of the eagle has not been properly finished, the space area shows the same texturing as the moon. How common is this? First pic is a normal horizon, second is the coin in question, with the horizon line drawn in red. You can see the difference in distance between the feather tip and horizon.

I describe it as "overspray." The die was polished and it crossed a normal "border" of the design.
Lost Horizons.
A minor variation, Insider2 has a good explanation.... Cheers, RickO
Thanks, everyone. Haven't run across this before. Was just wondering how common it is.
