    I don't think so. If you mess with them, you will have bright spots were they used to be. You could darken the whole coin, but you still have spots. The best thing is to leave them alone. They are an unfortunate aspect of the aging process, just like the spots on my skin. ;)

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.
