Fourth edition was published by Whitman Publishing Company in 1964, I don't know how to read it correctly, but perhaps Messrs. Brown and Dunn kept the rights.
I have several copies of Brown & Dunn because I have occasionally need line drawings for various projects. These books have excellent line drawings of coins!
Just for kicks, take a look at the VF large cent. This is not in the book but try to imagine what the coin would look like and HOW MUCH ORIGINAL MINT LUSTER would still be on a coin grading VF in the 1960's!!!
That is one book I do not have..... Which reminds me... there are a couple of book shops here, and several antique shops (with used book shelves), and I have not visited them in quite a while. In the past I have found a few coin books that way. I will look for this one. Cheers, RickO

That's how they did coin grading books until Mr. Jim Ruddy published "Photograde" around 1972-1973.
I have two hardbound from 1964 plus a B & D value guide from the same era. This last is quite difficult to find.
That’s a cool book, a bit of collecting history!!😃
B&D was my first grading guide.

We've changed a great deal since then.
