I have seen this 'silver' shade on copper here on the forum before...never encountered it at a show or shop. I have no idea what causes such change....Probably a copper expert could explain it more...Cheers, RickO

Used to work for a company that made stainless steel cookware with a copper plated bottom. Occasionally we would get a complaint from a consumer that the copper plating wore off after the first few uses (it couldn't). The returned pan always showed a silver colored heat tint. Sometimes, small areas were very close to the color of the stainless steel.
