I find the slab very interesting...
RogerB should be around at any minute to complain about the counterfeits.
Where are these located? Coin show? Shop? Ebay? Cheers, RickO
Location is top secret, lol
Is that a what so called 'omega' sign tho? Scary to even think about getting them raw.
I’d hate to get a counterfeit counterfeit!
Secret Service is looking for the item along with US mint agents as I type this. Do not attempt to delete.

I don't have a lot of $20 double eagles and certainly not a 1907 high relief but this coin looks pretty good except the color does seem off. Hard to tell from the picture but the Omega sign doesn't look like the Greek letter Omega to me or at least it looks like it is merged with a crude letter Sigma but maybe it is called Omega for other reasons.

Apparently there are trueviews of the raw one. Their policy is to not release pictures of counterfeits though. Maybe if we all ask nicely? You know, for educational purposes?? Lol
Great looking coins, I really enjoyed the omega story posted awhile back. Thanks for sharing.
I've always wanted one !!!
So why did the guy put the Omega sign on them in the first place?
So they wouldn't be considered counterfeits of course!
It was the end of the problem!
So he thought the Omega sign would keep him out of trouble?
How did that work out for him?
These coins have been around for quite awhile. No one knows who he really was and he could be dead by now.

I heard he was an Italian engraver that emigrated to the US
Back in the 1960's many counterfeit US gold coins came from Italy and Lebanon so that's a very real possibility.

I had heard that he marked them that way so that he didn't accidentally buy one of his own counterfeits.
From what I've read they were so beautifully designed that they are collectors items in their own right. An amazing story behind these coins.
