Label Residue

What method do you use to remove sticky or gummy residue from labels on slabs? I use mayonnaise, gently rub with my finger. Then wash with warm soapy water.

I use Goo Gone all the time. But in a pinch you can use WD40 - it works too.

I have never thought of WD-40. In my shop I definitely have it. Thanks.

I have Goo Gone but I don't like to deal with its oily residue. Yes, it works but it's more effort than needed.

The same stuff that polishes slabs, PlastX, makes the job of removing adhesive residue faster and easier.

Just simply use rubbing alcohol. It all evaporates with no residue.

I use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. Works like a charm. I use a clean dry cotton ball to wipe down everything afterwards to make sure it completely clean.

Packing tape. Yep. It's got a heavy adhesive and if you cover your sticky mess with this tape, the tape will pull it right off. It may take a few attempts, tack it on pull it off, but it's good n' clean, no liquid goo or mayonnaise.

That's what I do. It works great!

I've used packing tape too, but be careful when removing goo from a hologram.
I learned the hard way that you can also remove the hologram - or some irregular fraction of it.
